Once drawn, this blood sample is then placed into a specialized Selphyl® PRFM system, where it undergoes a controlled process to separate and concentrate these valuable elements. Liquid vs. gel: Two ways to prepare PRF
After your blood is drawn, the Selphyl® PRFM system allows for two distinct preparations, each designed to achieve different aesthetic goals.
Liquid PRF
This preparation involves a precise process without any additional additives or heating. The resulting liquid PRF is then carefully injected, aiming for a more subtle and natural enhancement. This approach typically involves a series of 3 treatments, designed to progressively stimulate your body's collagen production and improve skin quality over time, offering gradual and graceful rejuvenation.
PRFM Gel (Selphyl® PRFM)
In contrast, the PRFM gel preparation incorporates a matrix additive that transforms the PRF into a "gel" consistency. This gel acts more like a natural, temporary filler. While it still offers the collagen-stimulating benefits inherent to PRF, its primary scope is to provide a more instantaneous volumizing effect. This option is often preferred when a more immediate "fill" is desired, rather than a series of gradual treatments.

- Electrolytes 24 hours before: Drink 1-2 electrolyte drinks 24 hours before your treatment. Your hydration level will dictate how much product is obtained. A well-hydrated patient will get 1 ml more PRF on average.

Arnica Montana: If you have a history of bruising with injections. This is a supplement that can help prevent or lessen bruising. should be started 1-2 day(s) prior to treatment for best effect.

Aspirin / Ibuprofen avoidance: If possible, skip Aspirin 2 weeks prior to your treatment. Avoid Ibuprofen or Aleve 3 days prior to procedure.

Optional: Numbing cream. While it is not necessary and most patients do not use numbing cream, some patients find numbing cream helpful for any discomfort of injections. Apply 60 minutes prior to treatment.
- Ice on the affected area post-procedure in 15 minutes on, 15 minutes off intervals for the first 24 hours, can help with swelling or pain.
- Makeup can be applied immediately after procedure if desired. For bruising, use a good concealer.
- Avoid any rubbing or massaging of injection sites unless expressly instructed by your physician.
- Wear a Zinc-Titanium based physical sunscreen. UVA sun rays break down collagen and can shorten the life expectancy of PRF results. Protect your investment! Wear a physical sunscreen when outside. Please note that traditional sunscreens are usually chemical based and do not block UVB rays sufficiently.
- If doing package of liquid PRF, return in 4-6 weeks for your next treatment.
